Intellectual Qualities
Are you a common thinker or an uncommon thinker? Most of us are all born with five senses. What we can see, hear, taste, touch, and smell. The common thinker bases all their decisions on the five senses. The five senses are limited to telling and showing us what already “is.” They have no power to create or transform. The uncommon thinker is able to expand their mind beyond their normal capabilities and use “Intellectual Qualities” or (IQ). Intellectual Qualities have the power to create and transform. They are present in each one of us and each identifies a powerful area of thought that we can use to improve our thoughts and transform our lives. The Intellectual Qualities are:
The ability to pursue a Worthy Ideal: When you live according to a Worthy Ideal, your life will reach a level of fulfillment unsurpassed by anything you have ever experienced.
Intuition: Intuition is a hunch or gut feeling.
Open Mindedness: To open your mind you must develop flexibility in your thinking so that new ideas get the space in your mind to live and breathe.
Optimism: You have the ability to see the good in all aspects of your life.
Burning Desire: When you want something so much you can feel it, when you’re thrilled, excited, and eager with anticipation, when it feels so real you can taste it.
Passion: Passion propels you forward against all odds and obstacles, enabling you to conquer your circumstances.
Commitment: You have committed in your mind the end outcome and until you have achieved that, you do not stop.
Belief: It is a conscious choice you make and, when combined with knowledge of what you do best, it gives you unshakable confidence and profound focus.
Vision: Vision is powerful because when it gets strong enough nothing can stop you from achieving what you set out to do.
Be uncommon and tap into your Intellectual Qualities

Bruce Lee's 3 Secrets to Being a Good Fighter
Bruce Lee’s 3 Secrets to Being a Good Fighter
1.The Heart
In a confrontation, one must desire to win; when under pressure, one must maintain calm.
Famous quotation from Bruce Lee:
"No matter what you want to do, don't be nervous
(you should not let your muscles nor your mind be effected by nerves).
Just keep calm.
No illusion and no imagination,
but to apprehend the actual situation you are in and find a way to deal with it.
No excessive action is needed. Just keep your body and mind relaxed
to deal with the outside emergency."
2. The Eyes
The eyes should be able to pick up as much information as possible prior to and during engaging the physical struggle.
Watching the elbows and the knees is essential to get the best result.
Also at no time, should the practitioner blink or turn his head because he would give away the most
important instrument which supplies him the visual information of the current situation.
3. Balance
This means the practitioner should be balanced at all times so that his mobility and stability are maximised.
This also means that the practitioner must develop conditioning so that his legs do not give up under
strenuous pressure.

A-B-C's of Self Defense
A-B-C's of Self Defense
Let's keep it simple
A - AWARENESS: Always be aware of your surroundings. If you are walking down the street and see 5 guys drinking out of paper bags cross the street and walk down the other side.
When you are walking in a parking lot to your car look between the rows. When you get to your car look in the back seat and under the car.
B - BOUNDARIES - NEVER let anyone within 2 feet of you. This is grabbing distance. If you do not know the person put your hands up (OPENED) not in fists and say "Back Off"
C - COMBAT: KISS - Keep it simple stupid. Very basic techniques in the street. Front kick, palm strike and knee strikes work the best. EYES, NOSE, THROAT, and GROIN

Remain Calm
Have you ever noticed how people who are calm and collected seem to be that way all of the time? Think back to a time when a problem arose, how did you react? Calm? Or did you fly off the handle? Did your reaction make the situation better or worse? Learning to relax and ridding your mind of unwanted tension is critical for maintaining a heightened sense of awareness. Once you are able to relax, you create a balance in life enabling you to feel confident and composed. You will be able to carry anything you desire to do in a smooth and efficient manner. Connecting to this higher state of awareness can be challenging… but if you are aware of it… it is relatively simple. Become more aware of your thoughts and decide to be calm.

Intellectual Qualities
Through the use of our Intellectual Qualities, we can achieve a higher level of thinking and decision making. These are our “Mind Muscles” and just as our physical muscles they too must be exercised. They may be weak or strong depending on how much you use them.
Let’s compare these Mind muscles to the physical muscles in your body. If you exercise your muscles in a healthy manner, they will grow and expand. But the moment you stop, your muscles will shrink and weaken. The Intellectual Qualities operate in the same way. In order for us to utilize our mind and provide each of us with inner strength, we must develop these qualities and come to the realization that these qualities are always at work. Develop your mind muscle by exercising your Intellectual Qualities.
Quote of the Week: "You can't talk yourself out of a problem you behavey yourself into" -Stephen Covey

Persistence
How many attempts would you give a child to learn how to walk? A child doesn’t try to walk two or three times and then say… “This walking thing isn’t for me.” They keep on trying until they eventually walk right? So why is it that most adults try something a few times and then give up? What makes Thomas Edison try over 10,000 times before inventing the light bulb? It is… Persistence.
Persistence is one of the most crucial elements in attaining success. Persistence is a combination of two elements - Will and a Burning Desire. Combining these two elements enables you to achieve great accomplishments. Persistence gives you the power to overcome all obstacles and setbacks that will come along as you are on your path to achieving your goals.
